Sari Nusseibeh's offices reopened
| Posted 7/24/2002
The Al-Quds University offices of TACTsymposium participant Sari
Nusseibeh were reopened Monday July 22, 2002 after he met with
the Israeli public security ministry to sign an agreement that prohibited
future use of the premises for purposes of the Palestinian Authority.
Police closed his office two weeks ago, alleging that Nusseibeh
had violated peace accords by engaging in Palestinian political
activity in Jerusalem. Nusseibeh plans to continue his PLO activities
elsewhere and is quotes by CNN
as stating that Israel's accusations were baseless: "This is
the administration office of a university, which is a nongovernmental
organization." [ More... ]
